Vanessa Hudgens Gone With The Wind

Vanessa Hudgens

One of the rich teen celebrities, Vanessa Hudgens, has a new album titled Identified which will hit stores on July 1. The final track on the album, titled Gone With The Wind, is out on YouTube:

AOL News

"High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens' sophomore album has sprung a leak. The song, a wispy ballad titled "Gone With the Wind," has found its way to YouTube and a plethora of music downloading sites.

The jazzy song is about a girl "standing her ground" from naysayers and becoming her own woman. According to her MySpace page, the star says of the album's vibe: "I always had a knack for a more soulful, jazzy sound, so right off the bat I wanted to kind of let loose, and come up with a sound no one has heard from me before."

Because it lets her show off a "vulnerable side," Hudgens enjoys singing ballads. "It's a position a lot of girls find themselves in, where love takes control of you and you don't have any control over it."

"Identified" is the follow-up to her debut album, "V." Fans should expect a full tour to support the album. "High School Musical 3," co-starring her real life squeeze Zac Efron, hits theaters on October 24. (see the High School Musical gang in the Milk ad: Milk for girls)

Speaking of Efron, Hudgens answered rumors that Efron is less than clean. "He showers! He showers! Believe me, he does,"

You Had Me by Joss Stone

Beautiful British singer Joss Stone sings a heartbreak song, You Had Me, from her 2004 album Mind, Body & Soul.

The lyrics of You Had Me

You had me
You lost me
You're wasted
You cost me
I don't want you here messing with my mind

Spitting in my eyes and I still see
Tried to keep me down
I'm breaking free
I don't want no part in your next fix
Someone needs to tell you
This is it

Hey
Listen you'll be missin'
Out on all my love and my kissing
Make your mistakes on your own time
When you come down you're just no good to have around
Instead of making money you took mine

Chorus
You had me
You lost me
You're wasted
You cost me
I don't want you here messing with my mind
I've realized in time
that my eyes are not blind
I've seen it before
I'm taking back my life

You tried to trade on my naivete
But the things you do and say embarrass me
See once upon a time I was your fool
But the one I leave behind he is you

Hey
Listen you'll be missin'
Out on all my love and my kissing
Make your mistakes on your own time
When you come down you're just no good to have around
Instead of making money you took mine

Chorus

Vodka and a packet of cigarettes
That's all it used to be but now
You're sniffing on snow when you're feeling low
Suffocating dreams that could have
Maybe for a minute I'd be down with that
But it didn't take long for me to see the light
You swore you had control of it
But when I stepped back you slipped on your supply

Chorus

Taking it back I'm taking it back
Taking back my life
Taking it back I'm taking it back
Taking back my life
Ain't nobody got no business stressing all the time
Taking it back I'm taking it back
Taking back my life

Chorus

Taking it back I'm taking it back
Taking back my life
Taking it back I'm taking it back
Taking back my life
Ain't nobody got no business stressing all the time
Taking it back I'm taking it back
Taking back my life

The song has similarities to Take A Bow by Rihanna. But while Joss Stone is vegetarian and loves animals, meat-eating Rihanna loves dogs! Joss owns a rottweiler and a teacup poodle.

Joss Stone's latest album is Introducing Joss Stone. She's also starring in an upcoming movie Snappers, due for release in September 2008. Joss Stone has also experimented with her hair colors:

When her record company asked her to go back being a blond, Joss Stone defiantly colored her hair pink instead!

Pete Wentz in Uganda

fall out boy

Pete Wentz, bassist and lyricist for the Chicago-based punk rock band Fall Out Boy, shot a video in Uganda for the organization Invisible Children. The video was part of campaign by Invisible Children to raise awareness among American youth, about the plight of children in the African country who have been displaced from their homes due to civil war and have been recruited as child-soldiers.

Originally, the plan was for Fall Out Boy to come to Uganda, see how their money given to the charity was being used and shoot a documentary to raise awareness about the plight of thousands of children displaced by the country's ongoing war, but they later decided that the best medium through which to portray the suffering in the north was through song.

Invisible Children had organized an event called "Displace Me" on May 28 2007, where thousands of people across the US lived in carboard boxes in the streets, surviving on biscuits and water to show solidarity with the displaced children in Uganda. Among them were the Fall Out Boy members.

Pete Wentz said, "We decided that this treatment (shooting a music video) seemed a lot more dangerous and compelling. I mean, have you ever seen a love story between Ugandan people - especially with a rock band - on TRL (Total Request Live)?"

The video is about a love story between two Ugandan teenagers, Lacare (the girl) and Okello (the boy). Shot over five days in a displacement camp in Gulu, the video seeks love in a time of war and difficulties:

Sing along to the lyrics of this song with an incredibly long title, "I'm Like a Lawyer With the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me & You)":

Last year's wishes
Are this year's apologies
Every last time I come home
I take my last chance
To burn a bridge or two
I only keep myself sick in the head
Cause I know how the words get you

We're the new face of failure
Prettier and younger but not any better off
Bulletproof and loneliness
At best, at best

Me and you
Sitting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you
Me and you
Sitting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you

Collect the bad habits
That you couldn't bare to keep
Out of the woods but I love
A tree I used to lay beneath
Kisses still there
From a sour bottle baby girl
With eyes the size of baby worlds

We're the new face of failure
Prettier and younger but not any better off
Bulletproof and loneliness
At best, at best

Me and you
Sitting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you
Me and you
Sitting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you
Me and you
Sitting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you
Me and you
Sitting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you

The best way
To make it through
With hearts and wrists in tact
Is to realize
Two outta three ain't bad
Ain't bad

Me and you
Sitting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you
Me and you
(Honeymoon)
Sitting in a honeymoon
(In a honeymoon)
Me and you
Sitting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you
Me and you
Sitting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you

Pete Wentz recently married his sweetheart Ashlee Simpson (her latest song ay ya ya ya ya). Simpson has now changed her name to Ashlee Simpson-Wentz personally and also professionally. Pete has his own bar in New York City called Angels and Kings. As a child he was an all-state soccer player and wrote a book called The Boy With a Thorn in His Side, which is a story based on nightmares he had as a child.

Fall Out Boy had a tough time when they first started playing. "My biggest horror story is probably from when we were a new band, and we really wanted to land a deal with a record label. We signed contracts before seeing if there was anything better out there for us," recalls Pete Wentz.

Patrick Stump, who does vocals and guitar, says, "When we first started our band, I was so broke that I ate whatever I could for free. One night, somebody brought some tortilla chips over to my place—and the next day I actually ate a sandwich of tortilla chips, bread, ketchup, and mayo. I called it The Screwthunder."

Fall Out Boy were voted the worst band of 2005 by Spin Magazine, to which Pete retorted, "I guess we're just one of those bands that just polarizes people. Some people worship the ground we walk on, and some people say we're ruining music and should just shut out mouths. If you want to keep either of those opinions, you should try not to engage us in a real conversation."

It's on cheerleaders!

Bring it on stunts

Competitive cheerleading, with it's jumps and stunts is very different from the pom-pom waving sideline cheerleading. The athleticism and peppy spirit of competitive cheerleading is shown in the "Bring It On" series of cheerleading movies. The rock/pop song It's On by Superchick illustrates this spirit in Bring it on: in it to win it.

Superchick is a contemporary Christian band, performing rock, pop, and even punk rock! Very different from the soft rock and pop of Jennifer Avalon. Hear Superchick performing this song complete with lyrics:

Sing Along to the lyrics of It's On:

It all comes down to this
You take your best shot, might miss
You take it anyway
You're gonna make your move today
Got the will, you'll find the way
To change the world someday
Grab this moment before it's gone
Today's your day

It's on and on
It's on and on
It's on and on
Today's your day
So c'mon bring it on
It's on and on
It's on and on
It's on and on
Today's your day
So c'mon bring it on

And the view will never change
Unless you decide to change it
Don't feel like it today
Just show up anyway
And though life will take you down
It only matters if you let it
Get up, go through, press on
Today's your day

It's on and on
It's on and on
It's on and on
Today's your day
So c'mon bring it on
It's on and on
It's on and on
It's on and on
Today's your day
So c'mon bring it on

And though you wanna quit
don't think you can't get through this
you've come too far to walk away
it's not gonna be today.
and no mater how you feel
it's what you do that matters
this is your moment to be strong
today's your day

It's on and on
It's on and on
It's on and on
Today's your day
So c'mon bring it on
It's on and on
It's on and on
It's on and on
Today's your day
So c'mon bring it on

and no matter how you feel
its what you do that matters
this is your moment to be strong
today's your day

It's on and on
It's on and on
It's on and on
Today's your day
So c'mon bring it on
It's on and on
It's on and on
It's on and on
Today's your day
So c'mon bring it on

Take a bow Rihanna

Rihanna take a bow

R&B singer Rihanna says that a shorter haircut has given her a new sense of purpose in the music studio. "I felt like the whole world had long, curly, flowy blonde hair. Ciara, Beyonce, Mariah, Christina Milian. Everybody wanted to be like everybody else," Rihanna explained. "So I cut my hair, I dyed it black, I went into the studio making music my way. I found myself all at once. I like things strong, edgy, a little to the left. I don't like things that are expected - nothing cliched."

And the result is the beautiful song Take a Bow, with soothing piano-and-strings music complementing Rihanna's ballad-like performance. Take a Bow is about problems in relationships, heartaches, and break-ups....but Rihanna herself is happy in her relationship with Chris Brown.

Watch the video of Take a Bow:

Sing along to the lyrics of Take a Bow:

How bout a round of a plause?
Standin Ovasion...
Yeah yeah yeah yeah

You look so dumb right now
Standin' outside my house
Tryin to apologize
You're so ugly when you cry
(Please)
Just cut it out

Don't tell me you're sorry cuz you're not
Baby when I know you're only sorry you got caught

But you put on quite a show
You really had me goin
But now it's time to go
Curtains finally closin
That was quite a show
Very entertainin'
But it's over now
Go on and take a bow

Grab your clothes and get gone
(You better hurry up)
Before the sprinklers come on
Talkin' bout "Girl, I love you you're the one..."
This just looks like a re-run
(Please)
What else is on?

And don't tell me you're sorry cuz you're not
Baby when i know you're only sorry you got caught

But you put on quite a show
You really had me goin'
But now it's time to go
Curtains finally closin
That was quite a show
Very entertainin'
But it's over now
Go on and take a bow

And the award for the best liar goes to you
For makin' me believe
That you could be
Faithful to me
Let's hear your speech
oh...

How bout a round of a plause?
Standin Ovasion...

But you put on quite a show
You really had me goin'
But now it's time to go
Curtains finally closin'
That was quite a show
Very entertainin'
But it's over now
Go on and take a bow

But it's over now...
